Sound System Design

Sound reinforcement systems are vital to the function of all public assembly, sports and performing arts facilities. Even coverage of natural-sounding reinforcement to all seats in the audience is important for any type of performance or presentation. Consultation, design, and specification of sound reinforcement systems can be provided.

Components of the sound reinforcement system may include public address, audience reinforcement, sound effects, on-stage fold back for monitoring of on-stage talent, lobby and public space reinforcement and paging, assisted listening systems (to meet ADA requirements), and the equipment required for each of these system components. In some performance spaces, video distribution and recording capabilities are an integral part of the facility. WJHW can provide the design of a separate audio for video recording system.

WJHW staff pioneered the development of distributed loudspeaker systems in sports stadiums (being the first do so in the late 1980's), as well as on the leading edge of large, single point cluster systems outdoors.

WJHW designs are present in over half of the United States' professional sports venues
