Theatrical Lighting

Lighting creates the mood, controls the focus of attention of the audience, establishes pacing and rhythm, and brings realistic elements onto the stage. Considering that most stage lighting systems have a life span of twenty years, flexibility in design is the key. The stage lighting system consists of the control console or human interface, the control signal distribution system, the dimmer bank, the wiring devices, and the lighting instruments.

House and Work Light Systems - Providing adequate and appropriate illumination for the audience before, during, and after the performance is the goal of the house lighting system. This system consists of not only the lighting fixtures, but also the control system for those fixtures. Work lighting is typically handled by a system that provides adequate illumination for the theatre staff to work, rehearse, and clean. Included with the worklight system are running lights, safety lights, and scene change lights.
